Canucks: 6 Road Games; 6 Losses

Lightning 4, Canucks 2

So much for gelling on the road. The Canucks lost for the 6th straight time away from home and 7th time overall with a 4-2 setback to the Tampa Bay Lighting on Saturday. That wraps up the Vancouver roadie.

The Canucks were outscored 27-11 over a ten-day period against the Carolina Hurricanes (7-2), New Jersey Devils (4-1), New York Rangers (6-2), New York Islanders (3-2), Florida Panthers (3-2 OT), and Tampa Bay Lightning (4-2).

For the second straight game Vancouver took an early 2-0 lead only to blow it. This time Linus Karlsson scored his second of the season at 15:32 of the 1st period to open things up, with Elias Pettersson, the forward, tallying on the power play at 4:35 of the 2nd period.

Petey scores.

That seemed to wake up the Bolts. Less than two minutes later, Nikita Kucherov scored his first of two goals on the evening, a power play marker, to cut the lead in half. His second goal came five minutes later at even strength.

Jake Guentzel and Pontus Holmberg scored in the 3rd period for the final margin.

The Canucks were out-shot 35 to 14 in the game and lost 62.5% of the face-offs.

It might not be a fun return to Rogers Arena on Tuesday night when Vancouver attempts to snap the long skid with a home game against the Hurricanes. With their 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, the defending Stanley Cup champs have won seven straight.
