Seattle Torrent forward Hannah Bilka scored twice for Team USA as the Americans wrapped up the preliminary round at the Winter Olympics with a perfect record after beating Team Canada 5-0 on Tuesday in Milano.
Seattle captain Hilary Knight posted an assist on the opening goal of the game from University of Wisconsin D-woman Caroline Harvey at 3:45 of the first period. It turned out to be the game winner.
Bilka scored next at 13:18 of the first period and added her second goal at the 13:00 mark of the second period. That goal made it 4-0.
Bilka finished with three shots on goal, as did Seattle forward Alex Carpenter, who didn’t factor in the scoring. Both women finished a plus-2. Defense player Cayla Barnes from Seattle’s PWHL club posted 16:26 in ice time.
All four Torrent should be in the line-up when Team USA, the top seed in Group A, takes on the 4th seed from Group B in the crossover quarterfinals starting on Saturday.
