Kraken, Jordan Eberle

Determined Kraken Grind Past Jets 5-3

The Kraken persevered. They were outshot and out-chanced, but they were relentless with their forecheck and puck pressure. In other words, they lived up to their modus operandi.

Defenceman Vince Dunn had a big night with a goal and two assists while Seattle captain Jordan Eberle scored twice, including the game winner and an empty netter to wrap things up. Both of his goals followed one from Eeli Tolvanen, all of them in the third period, three unanswered for the win.

Kraken goalie Philipp Grubauer stopped 23 of the 26 Winnipeg shots while his teammates mustered just 18 against Connor Hellebuyck.

Both teams went 1-for-3 on the power play.

The win allowed the Kraken to hopscotch over the Jets in the overall Western Conference standings, with Seattle now holding a 21 to 20 edge. Despite being in different divisions, total points does factor into the western wild card race.

Seattle lost Finnish winger Kaapo Kakko to a lower body injury after just 3:51 of ice time. That after he scored his first goal of the season after missing all but eight games due to a training camp injury. There was no official update available.

The Kraken wrap up their mini homestand with revenge on their minds. The San Jose Sharks skated into Climate Pledge arena on November 5th and spanked the home team 6-1. Seattle will look to even the season series against a group of young up-and-comers dressed in teal.
