Kraken Announce Progress Of Franchise-Wide ‘Audit’

In a letter issued to season ticket holders and other constituents on Tuesday, Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke declared the following:

We brought in the Sportsology Group, an independent consulting firm that advises professional sports organizations around the world and asked them to bring fresh eyes to our hockey operations. We asked them to leave no stone unturned, and they did exactly that. They confirmed our strengths and identified areas where we can improve and evolve, including building brain trust, capabilities and alignment across talent evaluation and player development.

Almost two weeks ago, the club added former Canucks GM Patrik Allvin as an assistant general manager and hired former Columbus Blue Jackets assistant and later head coach Pascal Vincent as an assistant coach.

They also brought back former Kraken defenseman Justin Schultz as a player development consultant.

To share an update on the work completed, Leiweke sat down for a video interview with the team’s rights-holding media outlets to review what’s been done and what’s ahead.

That’s right, apparently the audit isn’t over. In the end, they expect the completely independent review to have a positive impact.

We are moving quickly and, while we won’t be able to share every detail of our strategy, we will show progress through our actions, including the key hires we’ve already made and the continued investments we’ll make across hockey operations.
