Canucks Informal Skate At UBC

A hefty group of Vancouver Canucks were seen skating at the rink on the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus on Wednesday, with the team sharing photos on twitter/X.

Both NHL goaltenders, Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen, and both Elias Petterssons were on hand.

It’s a big season for all four of those gentlemen for different reasons.

Can Demko stay healthy, can Lankinen keep up the stalwart play that saw him earn a five year contract extension, can top center “Petey” find his game again, and will “Petey-D” earn himself a regular NHL gig after playing 28 games in the big show last season.

Almost two dozen Canucks were on hand for the skate including newcomer and hometown lad Evander Kane.

Outside of a goalie coach or consultant, regular NHL team staff members are not allowed to participate in these gatherings. “Captain’s skates” will follow closer to the training camp that begins on September 18th in Penticton.
